How do I get started?

Download ButlerBldr from the App Store, open the app, and fill out your business profile in Settings (business name, logo, payment terms). That's the whole setup.

Create your first job from the home screen, add a quote, and tap "share" to send a PDF link to your client. Most contractors send their first quote within 5 minutes of opening the app.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Everything works offline — creating jobs, building quotes, taking photos, tracking time, generating PDFs. Your data stays on your device until you're back on a connection.

Sending a PDF link via text needs a connection (so the link can upload). Once you're online, the app syncs and shares automatically.

How do I send a quote to a client?

Build the quote with line items (labor, materials, flat fees), then tap the share button at the top of the quote screen. ButlerBldr generates a branded PDF and uploads it to a private link.

Pick the client from your list (or type a phone number), and we'll open the iOS Messages app with the link pre-loaded. Your client taps the link, sees the PDF in their browser — no app required.

Can I cancel Pro anytime?

Yes. Cancel through your iPhone's Settings app: tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, then ButlerBldr. Pro stays active until the end of your billing period, then switches to Free.

You don't lose any data when you cancel. Your jobs, quotes, invoices, and clients all stay in the app — Pro features (unlimited usage, time tracking, recurring jobs, etc.) just become unavailable until you re-subscribe.

Where is my data stored?

On your device and in your personal iCloud account. We do not run a server that holds your business data — your jobs, quotes, invoices, clients, and photos sync through Apple's CloudKit using your iCloud account.

How do I import contacts?

In the Clients tab, tap the + button and pick "Import from Contacts". ButlerBldr reads the contacts you select — name, phone, address, email — and creates client records.

You can also add clients manually, or pick from contacts while creating a job. Importing one at a time as you need them is usually faster than bulk import.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Nothing. Your data stays on your device and in your iCloud account either way. Canceling Pro just turns off the Pro-only features (unlimited usage, time tracking, recurring jobs, etc.).

If you delete the app, the local copy is removed. Your iCloud copy stays unless you remove the ButlerBldr container from iCloud Storage settings — so reinstalling later restores everything.

How do I add my business logo to quotes and invoices?

Go to Settings → Business Profile → Logo. Tap to select a photo from your library. Your logo appears on all generated PDFs.
